Balloon Sinuplasty

Balloon Sinuplasty is a procedure that our doctors use for the treatment of blocked sinuses. Patients diagnosed with sinusitis but not responding to medication may be a candidate for sinus surgery.

Balloon technology was initially cleared by the FDA in 2005 and is a noninvasive way for the treatment of chronic sinusitis. It uses a balloon over a wire catheter to dilate the sinus passage way.

Patients undergo the procedure in the office and are able to return to normal activities the same day. Often times no pain medicine is required after the procedure. The procedure is extraordinarily safe and delivers consistent, significant and listing improvement in symptoms. The procedures can be comfortable performed under local anesthesia in the office.

All physicians at Carolina ENT Clinic have performed several hundred of these procedures and have done additional and specialty training to become experts at balloon sinuplasty.
